Karen “Ninny” J. Steege, 77 of Kenosha passed away Thursday January 28th, 2021 after a long-fought battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family at her residence.

Ninny was born on December 20th, 1943 in Oconomowoc, WI to Gilbert and Betty (Hemke) Wolf. A graduate of Kenosha Bradford and a member of Wesley Methodist Church, Ninny went on to work at Quaker Industries (Antioch, IL) for 36 years and was a member of the Union Brotherhood of the Boiler Makers Local 714.

Ninny married the love of her life Peter Steege on April 19, 1973.

She will forever be remembered as a kind hearted, generous woman. Ninny loved the local Senior Center, playing cards, entertaining, and cooking and baking- but only with real butter.

Ninny is survived by her mother Betty Wolf, her daughter Dee (Josh “Partner”) Cattelino-Hipper of Pleasant Prairie, her siblings Dennis Wolf, Jan Truax, Sue (Gary) Garvin, Gail (Mark) Miller, and Gary Wolf. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren Natasha, Olivia “Missy”, Montana “Lolly”, Nathaniel “Buddy” and Landin “Mr”.

She is preceded in death by her husband Peter Steege who passed away May 30, 1997, her father Gilbert Wolf, son Rodney Maliki, brother Duane Wolf, brother-in-law Harry Truax, nephew Jerry Truax and sister-in-law Laurie Wolf.

A visitation for Ninny will he held on Tuesday, February 2nd 2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Bruch Funeral Home. Due to pandemic concerns and guidelines with the CDC, we are limiting to 50 people in the funeral home, you may have to wait outside before entering. For your safety, masks are required and encourage social distancing. We thank you for your cooperation and understanding during these trying times.

Thank you to Dr. Bandealy's staff, nursing staff at DTC Aurora (Kenosha) and staff at Hospice (Kenosha/Racine) throughout this battle of cancer for Ninny.

   REST IN PEACE FELLOW CLASSMATE.

Carol Klitzke (Schlevensky)

"Kind hearted and generous" are only two of many words to describe Karen.  I met her when she started coming to the Senior Center to play cards. Eucher was her game and what a player she was. Her baking was "yummy, yummy".  Not a week went by that she didn't bake something.  She always had a smile even when you knew she wasn't feeling well.  You are missed and loved by all.

Richard Hamilton

Karen and I were frends at Lincoln Jr High,   We were classmates in 8 th Grade English,. she was a very sweet person.
