 DAVID KIVILA
David August Kivela died on August 19, 2025 in Indianapolis following a long
illness. He was born to Sulo and Violet Kivela in Kenosha on November 23, 1943.
He graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1962, then earned two history
degrees from University madison. He married Mary Claire Keul, a classmate, on
July 23, 1966.
He taught high school history in Indiana for 41 years before retiring in 2009.
He was an avid sports fan and participant in athletic activities including
running and golf. Several times a year he took Mary and the children on trips
to Wisconsin which he always considered home. He will be missed by his wife Mary
daughter Laura and son James.
REST IN PEACE FELLOW CLASSMATE.

This is sad news. I remember David well, practiced with him on the sophomore football team on that muddy field by the lake, behind the stadium. He was a reliable guy and a good friend. May he rest in peace.
