Martha was a good, good friend for many a year.  We shared lots of laughter and fun times as well as

helping each other thru some rough spots.  One of my most vivid memories is being w/ her for her wedding-on her

40th birthday! - in Albuquerque, NM.  We all made it out there - Barbara Pedley, Sue Wedell, Dean Albert and

myself- and we had a fabulous time!!  I miss her and think of her often.   Love to you, Marth, from Jackie

Martha and I met in 7th grade at McKinley and were friends until she left us in November of 2009.   She was the most fun always and when I think of times spent with her,  it always seemed like a party.

We were lucky enough to be part of a group of 12 girls in a club started at McKinley by Mary (Magnino) Kessler.  Ange du Ciel (Angels in the sky - ADC), a lofty little title but a fun group who still get together and most of whom have worked on this reunion weekend.

It would take a book to tell of all the fun times with Martha, who was the greatest party planner.  When I think back to our times together it almost always seemed like a party, from our teenage years through college and as adults.  Many high school times included scooping the loop.  Martha usually had her parents Oldsmobile convertibles and after one weekend when her parents were gone, her dad told her he was upset as we put 200 miles on the car.  We  never even left Kenosha!  (Lucky for me my parents never checked mileage.)

We also took many driving trips that were more than 200 miles.   Many memories came from those times when she would run out of gas as it seemed the gas tank gauge didn't work and she was sure we could make it to the next exit, always the optimist.  As you can imagine, sometimes that backfired and we had more stories to reminisce about because of it.

She did leave Kenosha and ended up with an Employment business in Albuquerque.  She was married there on her 40th birthday and Jackie (Bokmueller) Bobusch, Barb (Pedley) Doyle, Dean (Albert) Merritt, and Bonnie (Peterson) Condliff and I flew out to help her celebrate.  And celebrate we did.    Another fun party weekend.

She and her husband Dick came to Kenosha in the fall of 2000, and Ron and I went to UW-Madison to watch the Packers play at Camp Randall Stadium with them and  Jackie and Steve Bobusch.  It was a great weekend and I am sure Martha relived her great days in Madison.  It helped to relive her days there as our daughter was in her senior year there and lived across the street from the stadium.  We really got the flavor of student living while there.  Dick enjoyed the weekend so much that when they got back home he sent Martha a dozen roses at her office.  They had a great life together and we had great times with them both.

Not all our times together were fun, we also had some sad times together, but helped each other through them.

I cherish the memories of Marth, happy and sad.  She was a great friend and she is in a great place, I am sure she is still planning the parties there!

Love to you, Marth.

Yes, Martha hosted many parties at her house and one I remember so well was a luau that was nothing short of 5 stars!  Many a heart was set a flutter on the basement dancefloor and broken just as quickly.  Martha was always the planner and organizer.  I echo everything Sue said and although I wasn't at her wedding, I felt like I'd attended from all the stories that were shared.

One more of our dearly beloved gone far too soon.
