Judith Swanningson (Niles)

Judith Marie Niles, 70, of Kenosha, was taken into heaven last Sunday, April 20, 2014, after a beautiful Easter celebration with her family.  She attended Kenosha schools and graduated from Gateway Technical with a degree in marketing and materia lmanagement.  She was married to Douglas Nilesin 1968.  Though their marriage was dissolved, they had a daughter, Laura, for whom she called her greatest joy and accomplishment. She was happily employed at Jockey International for 20 years.  Judy led a life of service and grace. She coordinated and cooked for the Shalom Center for eight years, was involved with Meals on Wheels and enjoyed making blankets for newly adopted children in Kenosha County. She loved to crochet, paint ceramics, try new recipes and enjoyed a good Chinese buffet. She also loved the Packers, NASCAR and watching Castle. Judy loved to travel and her favorite spot in the world was the Pink Shell Resort in Fort Meyers Beach Florida. Judy is survived by her daughter, Laura and many wonderful family friends. Judy would often tell her daughter, "When things aren't going your way, and you think life can't get any worse, say a prayer and give something of yourself  You won't believe the good things that are to come."  That was Judy.  Rest in Peace

Judy, Annette Jaeger and all were all good friends at McKinley J.H.  We went to a dance together and my Aunt, who lived next door to Judy, took our picture before the dance.  We all had on yellow dresses with big petticoats underneath, and am sure we thought we were  "hot stuff."
