Ron Witt

Ron and Sharon Witt married as undergrads at UW-Madison and look forward to their 50th anniversary in 2015. They have four daughters and ten grandchildren all nearby in Wisconsin. Sharon was a social worker and mostly worked for non-profit agencies but her last job for six years was for the State of Wisconsin Department of Corrections at the Sturtevant medium security prison.

Ron worked as associate engineer for Boeing under a NASA contract on the Apollo project http://airandspace.si.edu/collections/imagery/apollo/apollo.htm He coordinated computer tech support and was an instructor at Northwestern University http://www.northwestern.edu/ in Evanston, Illinois. He worked as an IT manager in the publishing industry and a consultant in the healthcare insurance industry before becoming an IT networking manager in the telecommunications industry and government.

In 2001 Ron joined the IT Network faculty at Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, Racine and Elkhorn Wisconsin. Since 911 Ron’s primary interest has been to promote security and teaching IT security classes. Ron started the Security Analyst degree at Gateway for 2012. Ron is a certified security CISSP and SANS GSLC and is active in IT security related professional groups in both Wisconsin and greater Chicago. Ron retired as a Gateway instructor for fall 2012

In retirement they look forward to some more travel. So far they have enjoyed cruises in the Caribbean and vacations in Jamaica, Cancun, Puerto Rico, Florida as well as Seattle and Victoria Canada and hope to fit in a trip to Italy for their 50th anniversary.
