Retired in 2009 after 23 years with the Public Affairs Office of the Wisconsin Department of Military Affairs. Spent more than six years as editor of The Congregationalist, quarterly magazine of the Congregational Way. Retired from that retirement job in January 2016 to concentrate on writing. Three short stories e-published by Saturday Evening Post. My historical novel, Price of Passage, was published in August 2022 by DX Varos Publishing. A middle-grades novel, Izzy Strikes Gold!, about a boy growing up in the 1950s, is seeking publication.
I also travel--when not confined by global pandemics--with my wife, Joelle, and spend as much time as possible with our grandchildren, Elsie, age 13, and Tristan, 10.

This is sad news. I remember David well, practiced with him on the sophomore football team on that muddy field by the lake, behind the stadium. He was a reliable guy and a good friend. May he rest in peace.
