John Reed

John Reed

John passed away on January 27, 2016 at his home after a short illiness with cancer.  He lived in Australia for over 30 years.  He enjoyed fishing and crabbing.  He worked as a mining engineer.  He will be deeply missed by his wife, Dulcie and brothers Frank and Paul. Rest in Peace fellow classmate.

THE REED TWINS WERE ALWAYS FRIENDLY  IN HIGH SCHOOL.  I FOUND IT VERY COOL THAT JOHN LIVED IN AUSTRALIA - A MOST  INTERESTING COUNTRY.   GOLLY ANOTHER CLASSMATE GONE FROM  OUR CLASS OF 62 - MAKES ME  SAD.  GOD BLESS YOU JOHN REED.  KEVIN SHERWIN

Good folks often leave us too soon. Always thought highly of both of the Reed's. John left the Train of Life too soon.

I was so sorry to hear about John's passing.  I do regret not making the 50th reunion and not seeing the Reed's and others at that reunion.  My prayers and thoughts go out to the Reed's and their many friends.  Rest in Peace my friend.

In addition to being a truly good human, Bob was a quick wit. Once a year, we'd have a "double dual meet" between the swimmers and the wrestlers - one wrestling meet and one swim meet. And of course, you can guess the outcome.  Well, Glen McCulloch paired Bob and Frank in a one-lap swim event.  At the gun, Bob waited until Frank dove in for the start - then Bob jogged along the deck and dove in about five yards from the finish.  Imagine Frank's surprise when he pulled up at the end and found Bob waiting!

Hell of an athlete, and a good person.  Rest in peace.

So, glad we got to seeand talk to Bob at the 50th.  He and Frank were always so nice and interesting to talk to.  Our sympathy goes to his family and friends.  Sad to see another classmate gone too soon.  Susan and Ron Marcich

It was good to talk to him at the reunion.  if my memory serves me correctly, which is always questionable, the Reed twins were members of First Methodist Church and in MYF with me.  Sympathy to his family and friends.

Always thought of him as Bob.  Lots of great memories from our UW Madison days.  So very glad we got to visit at the last reunion.  He'll be missed.
